No matter what the people in the know say, putting together the Honeymoon Registry is nowhere near as simply as compiling the Bridal Registry.
After all, how do you decide your Bridal Registry? Easy. You walk around the house and look at what you have, what needs replacing, what you’d really love someone to give you, and there’s your Bridal Registry.
However, you can hardly walk through your Honeymoon needs, until you actually decide on your Honeymoon. Then, and only then, can you get into the nitty gritty of your Honeymoon Registry. There’s your cost of flight tickets, if you’re flying. There’s your patrol, if you’re driving. There’s your accommodation wherever you’re staying. There’s the admission for this, that, or the other event. There’s the cost of your clothing if you’re going to somewhere special like Alaska and need something to cover you from head to toe.
Then you need to really search your soul as to just how generous your guests are. If you have some extremely rich and generous uncles, you might decide that between them they might cover your plane tickets. More likely, you will need to divide that amount by ten or more guests so that instead two uncles purchasing a ticket each with $1,000 gift, it’s more likely to be 10 guests giving you a gift of $200 each.
Oh, and there’s one more quandary you need to consider. When you put together your Bridal Registry it’s no big deal if the guests go their merry way and give you something else, or nothing at all. However, in the case of your Honeymoon Registry, you can’t wait to make your arrangements after the money comes in. You have to do it when you have to do it, and then keep your fingers crossed when the Honeymoon Registry start bringing in the dollars.
